Nationwide survey
Current situation of skilled workers in youth work

The Federal Network on Youth Work, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) and the Transfer Office for the European Youth Work Agenda (EYWA) in Germany are cooperating to conduct a nationwide online survey of facilities for youth work on the current situation of skilled workers.

The following questions will be empirically investigated in the survey:

  • How easy or difficult is it for your institution to find new pedagogical staff, interns or freelancers?
  • What experience do you have with the issue of “shortage of skilled workers”?
  • What issues are you currently dealing with in your institution?
  • What strategies do you have for recruiting qualified staff?

The aim is to use the results – and thus the experiences from youth work – to develop well-founded steps for recruiting and retaining professionals youth work. At the end of the survey there is the possibility to enter your email address in order to be informed about the results later.

The survey on the current situation of professionals in youth work has been completed and is currently being evaluated.
